Hi there!

"It would be first Lada with such a susp"

Its not true, there are quite a few lada's running on factory A arms, with coilovers, and a few with tubular A-arms with uniballs. What type of coilovers are they? Spax? GAZ? Are they indipendetly adjustable (Independent Bump
And Rebound Adjustment)? Price? :)

Buy the way, if you put so much money in the car, why didnt you adjust the front roll center? As your A-arms stand, your RC is below ground and that isnt to good... :(

Nice car btw ;)
Cheers

Mancs

What is your idea to adjust the front roll centre? Can you also consider the wheel geometry during inbound? What SW are you using?
Thanks
B

this will be a race car, so you know, i don't need too much wheel travel, if i would make a rally ar, then everything would be different. And unless MacPherson strout, double wishbone suspention doesn't loose the geometry.

And when writing about first Lada on coilover set I was writing about whole suspention - mostly the rear one, because making a front one on coilover isn't very difficult, and I haven't seen any ladas with rear axle on coilover dampers.

2103i:

What I meant with the roll center, is that the lada's roll center is somewhere near (40-50 mm if I remember correctly) the ground as factory ride hight. When lowering the car, it can go even below ground level, and thats bad of course, the distance between the roll center and the center of gravity will grow, and the roll factor will be much much bigger... I started drawing new suspension, witch includes raising the roll center, and some other minor geometry changes (like negativ camber gain, insted of the factory lada suspensions positive camber gain...), bigger track width, etc.

As for solving this problem, I started to mess around with the lower A-arms position, and size. The upper A-arm is almost "factory", exept for the bigger track width, its a bit bigger. I'v got quite far, but I dont have any money to make it :) So it only exists on paper :(

Ow btw, by SW you mean software? Well at the moment only paper, rulers etc :) But I'm learning 2 suspension design SW-s, but I always run out of the 30 day trial period :) One is better for the front suspension, but doesnt include rear solid axle. The other has the solid axle, so I can calculate anti squat, etc etc.

3zeR:

I have a friend in Greece, he also uses watts link in the rear. Not a bad idea. He uses mcpherson in the front. Here is his project:

Bmw diff in lada axle with watts:
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd54 ... C04465.jpg

Rear coilover (its non adjustable on this pic yet):
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd54 ... C04460.jpg

Front:
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd54 ... C04469.jpg
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd54 ... o003-2.jpg
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd54 ... o001-5.jpg
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd54 ... 4502-1.jpg

Btw he is also converting he's car to sr20det. Russians new mania is to use the whole s13-14 suspension (front and rear), with sr20det. Quite a job, but its worth it. My future plans also, but not the near future... :(
Cheers

nice, but quite heavy - lots of steel - and still it's swaped car with swaped engine, probably gearbox and diffi. Interesting project but heading in totally different way that mine.

Sorry, this is our forum, if you started the topic with this name, please don't put off themes here or renamed it!

But I renamed the title of this topic, if you give me another title. Ok?
