British racers like Ford engines, transmissions and axles. That's very common and cheap there I think.

Well, yes and no! |The thing is ford engines and vauxhall [opel!] are everywhere in the uk, while lada tuning is not so common.

Thing is aswell, the zetec engine is much lighter than the lada engine, but the box is cast casing, so all in all maybe the zetec and type9 box [ as i have in my lada ] is probably a little bit lighter all in all.

The engine also, there is talk of using sazuki gsxr? 1000 throttle bodies and some form of engine management.

You can see also how the engine is mounted, its on the chassie legs, that way you can take off the crossmember with out touching the engine,

Also, you can see there is a stearing rack on the crossmember , this is from a talbot sunbeam, its a mod i have asked the guy to make in a kit for my car too!

Anyone wants to ask anything, i quite often phone andrew up, so i can ask!


he is looking for a vfts body kit if anyone has one!

BTW, don't you know any website about Escort MK IV. or V. RWD conversion? I'd like to build a car like that for daily use :)

whats this? A mkiii escort? Well, its Dai Dots old RWD escort, its got a atlas capri type axel under it, Nissan 240Rs engine and box, aparently has over 300 real brake horse power. Awesome car!
Used to be fitted with a BDA engine some years ago, but upgraded to this motor.

Howie macfearsons Mkii escort with Naturaly asperated cosworth engine, 2000cc producing 250 bhp!

Neil Jones with his alfa romea engined talbot sunbeam with sierra gear box!

Dia Dots other car which he thinks is quicker than the BD3, its a chevette with vauxhall Xe engine, ford type 9 sierra box, and atlas axel! 240 bhp!

Allister Well's Vauxhall nova, it has a suzuki swift engine mounted to the nova gear box!

Paul Culverwells pug 205, RWD, atlas axel, ford type 9 box, and in th at pic it has a ford crossflow engine in, now its being rebuilt with toyota 4age 1600 engine!

Eddie McGuinness's mkii escort with capri axel, type 9 box, and 4age engine!


Eddie then sold that and bought this!
